Great coffee/tea making facilities in the room and a comfortable bed, quiet and comfortable location near Blue Valley Golf Course. Rewritten: the room has great coffee/tea making facilities and a comfortable bed; it's a peaceful and cozy spot close to Blue Valley Golf Course.

The hotel is a short walk from the onsite restaurant and the heart of the area, the room we stayed in felt modern and stylish.

The hotel was perfectly suitable for the purpose of my trip.
The wing of the hotel that room 306 was located did suffer quite a lot of traffic noise, day and night.

Friendly service from Khanyisile in the restaurant at dinner. Conveniently located for the purpose we required to stay.
The area is a bit creepy. The guard house and the way it is secured does not give one a sense of safety. Generally did not feel safe in the area.

I spent only one night. I did like the room which was well cleaned. Got Internet access. The breakfast was also good.
The issue of shuttle was a bit confusing and in fact was too expensive for hotel clients. I booked through Internet and I did complain about the shuttle because I was charged for that. I thought It was part of the facilities, but at the end, that was not the case...I tried to cancel my booking but It was late and I could not do it. I was very angry about the shuttle charge (ZAR 400)...too much!!

Upgraded to Executive room at the same rates which was nice !!
One thing I did not like I was told at the reception that the hotel has not received any communication from Booked.net but they could find me a room anyways.

The Protea Hotel exceeded my expectations with its excellent milieu - both inside and outside. The staff was phenomenal - always helpful and friendly. The rooms were spotless and the daily cleaning service was great. The location was convenient and secure - giving us peace of mind as foreign visitors. The breakfast - especially the freshly prepared omelette - was delicious.
Would definitely recommend.

Location is very convenient. Price is fair. Rooms are neat.
Breakfast is charged separately and is very expensive, this should be part of the package as is in many hotels. No Mini bar. Drinking water provided once only, this should be daily.

This hotel offers great value for money, with reasonable prices for delicious food. Just like in one of the reviews, I had a snack platter for one with chicken wings, ribs, potato wedges, and tasty vegetable wraps, all for a very reasonable cost. The food was fantastic, and I found the prices to be a steal. Additionally, the ambience of the hotel was relaxed and not crowded, allowing for a pleasant dining experience.
No major issues, all was satisfactory.
